Title: Sedona Agave #1

After a trip to the Southwest and a painting series titled Persistence of Pink, showing macro views of pink flowers I decided to do a series of succulents. Painting this neutral colored agave was a big change, not only in color choices but a much larger size of paper than I'd tried before! I painted a companion painting, Sedona Agave #2 with a similar palette and the same size so they could be displayed as a diptych with a commanding presence. Also consider a triptych of prints with "Morning Beauty", a painting the same size and palette, to create a large display! This is part of my 2018 work toward a November show in Anacortes, WA. My watercolors reproduce beautifully as prints or on canvas. The art is professionally photographed which will make reproductions impossible to discern from the original painting other than the deckle edge of the painting which is part of the original art.

I look for beautiful transitions of color or textures that could be expressed luminously with my many glazes of watercolor, or that might provide an opportunity for me to try new painting techniques. I paint the inner landscape of flowers calling these works Floralscapes.
